The Hytune Van Project

Post by Tom on Fri Jul 10, 2009 10:57 am

So, after many plans fizzled into nothing, a van finally appeared for a reasonable price, which was already in Hytune colours (cant argue with that!!) it is smaller that we was hoping, but a van is a van, and already being in the right colours is a right touch!

the project actually fell into Darrens hands... hes more like a dell boy, but without the cheap suitcase, market stall and the batman and robin suit!!

Reasons the van was a steal was because the engine had blown up, but the van itself had done a low mileage, meaning other parts on the van were knew to be in good condition. But buying a van with a blown engine is sometimes a silly idea, unless you have another trick up your sleeve. Moments after being offered the van, a friend of darrens mentioned he had a mondeo that had been shunted up the back, but the engine was the same as the one in the van, but had a turbo Wink and was on low mileage. The mondeo was going cheap again, so putting 2 and 2 together, we had a bargain!!!

At present the engine is almost in, and just waiting for darren to get some 'work in progress' pictures and ill post them up for all to see, then keep and eye out at the tracks for the tango mobile!!!!

Thanks

Tom Cool

Sorry everyone ive been a little bust lately so the van is coming on very slowly, and there is a bit of a list of things to do so bare with me!!
once we have a new fuel tank and lines installed and the repaired sump pan reinstalled we have half a chance of getting it running right?!
I promise pictures will follow this post in a couple of days!!
