Dusting off my boots
After many years of leave from the racing world, i recently gained the buzz to do more than just testing. So after treating myself to a new race suit at the weekend (as the years have been cruel ) im almost ready to get back on the grid. All i have left to do is renew my licence
..... oh and build an up to date kart to race
over the years of absence my personalitly has changed, my mind is in a different way and i believe since my last racing days i have also matured a lot more. i have a different view of a way to succeed and with a new era of racing i intend to give it a good shot at enjoying myself and hopefully do well.
My father, who was my mentor, my mechanic, manager and also the provider recently passsed away due to illness, and was the motivation for me to get into racing at the age of 10. He never stopped believing in me even though sometimes it got hard. So i see this fresh new look at competing again a way to remember that trust and support he gave me over the years!!
lets just not stick it in the wall again!!!!

I reckon thats a fitting tribute to the man who brought you into the world of motorsport, and into the bargain you will be that same man to your own little guy in the next few years, (with a little help from your friends obviously!)
Lets show the world of karting that the old guard can still mix it with the new blood of today!!!
HYTUNE RULES!!

Re: Dusting off my boots
Yea I'm gonna make enquiries about my int competitors and weather it still stands as I'm no longer competing at that level or wether I start again from scratch? Could be a laugh doing the arks etc?! Lol
Re: Dusting off my boots
usually if you havent aquired a new licence within 5 years of your previous licence then usually you must start again from scratch!
but the thing that might make a difference for you is that you held a car licence and the karts require a different licence. im not 100% how that may affect you??

Re: Dusting off my boots
Well as I understand it the car licence expires the same as the kart one on the 5th year, which means I'm okay till next march, and I was told once that if you hold a car national b or higher you don't need to do the arks but i'm unclear on that at the mo, so we shall see, or you ratty stick with the karts and I go rally cross or tin top which suits my 'style' of driving more?! Watch this space!!! :-)
Re: Dusting off my boots
that would definately be an intresting idea!
Even if you had to start on a kart national B it only takes 6 races at an approved RACMSA kart circuit to move up to national A
