Project Scooby undeerway!
Sunday morning saw the commencement of 'Project Scooby'
The engine has been removed and i have started to strip it down to its componant parts to asses the damage and thus the parts required to put it right, i am planning to re-build the engine using forged pistons and con rods and acl race bearings (assuming the crankshaft is okay)
the heads will remain standard as they are capable of running up to 400-450 bhp with no problem,
i will add a cosworth sump baffle plate and if the budget allows i would like to fit equal length tubular headers,
the bottom end is to be lightened and balanced complete with the clutch and crankshaft pulleys,
obviously on re-assembly new water pump and cambelt, oil pump and probably a modine,
All being well i should know how bad the damage is in the next couple of days,
Watch this space people,Hope to finish up with appoximatly 300bhp to start with whilst running in, and then with the TD05 turbo, bigger fuel pump and pressure regulator and up-rated injectors and a re-map it should see around the 350 to 400bhp easily so it should be fun and hopefully the trip to the ring which will probably now be next year should be all the more fun if all goes to plan?!!

Re: Project Scooby undeerway!
And then it was gone, but was a slight snag on the release bearing, didnt want to disconnect from the clutch cover.
Re: Project Scooby undeerway!
Ready to be dismantled, wonder what im gonna find in there, all i know is it should make some impressive power whenever i get it back in??
